If your computer is "junk free", then either you have a hardware
incompatibility, you missed something or something probably to remain
unknown happened.
No one may never know and that may be why you have not been given a specific
answer.
Find another hard drive and clean install Windows followed by SP-2.
If you have the same problem, you have a hardware problem.
If there is no problem, you have a software issue with your original
installation.
More than likely there is an unknown problem with your computer.
