Ron,
Disredard my questions about what CD I have. I found the "correct"
operating system reinstallation CD. MY BAD :>{

Re-installation seems to have worked. I'm going out tomorrow and buying the
newest version of Norton Antivirus. I also ordered the SP2 CD from the MS
webpage. When that baby gets here, I will be applying that. I have printed
out instructions for doing so from the MS webpage.

Thanks to all who offered assistance. I now know how little I know about
windows.
