Default Re: "file folder"s have incorrect setting somehow

This problem occurs when you alter the "Drive" / "File Folders" entries via
File Types dialog, to add a "Command Prompt here" or "Print Directory"
feature for folders. (example)

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321186

Resolution:

Click Start/Run and type this command to fix this problem:
(Tip from David Candy)

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

-or-

Fix "Search" Opens Instead of Explorer:

-or-

To fix this manually via registry:

If this problem is seen for Drives:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

If this problem is seen for folders:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
Set (default) to "none" (without ")

i dont know if i caused it, although it is likely, every time i double click
any file folder let it be "program files" or "iTunes Music" a search window
pops up. interstingly, if i right click one of the folders, the action in
bold is "search..." and if i go to control panel, folder options, file
types,
highlight "file folder", then click "advanced", the list of actions include
"Enque in Winamp, Play in Winamp, Add to Winamp's Bookmark list, find" only
these 4. i do recall going into this screen before this problem started and
try to set all of my folders to automatically list its files in detail
format
(which would also be nice to know how to do) and i think i somehow created
this problem. if someone could please help me understand what i did wrong
and
how i can fix it i would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much,
Jason Y. Roth
