No...something was wrong.

My wife was unable to modify files in the folder ("Shared Documents"),
though she was able to create her own.

I corrected the problem by changing the "SIMPLE FILE SHARING" attribute in
Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View

This gave me an administrator control more like I would expect from Win2000.
Indeed she did not have FULL CONTROL.

I've corrected this, and everything seems to be working fine now.
