Check the power management tab on the network adapter. Go to the Control
Panel System applet, Hardware, Device Manager. Expand Network Adapters
and find the one you are using to connect to the cable modem.
Double-click it to get its Properties. On the power management tab,
uncheck "Allow Windows to turn off this device when not in use".
