Jasper,
get a better Ethernet adapter. It is probably using too many
interrupts and too much time to service them.
What make is it? Is the proper driver installed, latest version?
One indication that this is true is that, if you enable to view
the kernel times in Task Manager, much of the processor time is
kernel time.
