I've checked a bunch of things, disabled the concurrent NetBui I had running
and now have only TCP/IP enabled. The old machine still has no problem
accessing the XP machine, but not the other way around. I had a perfectly
functioning network (for years) before XP Home showed up this year. I
doulble checked the firewall stuff, enabled a range of IP addresses which
include both machines at both ends in Zone Alarm, which is on both machines.
I'm out of good ideas.
