Is your Wi-Fi card still listed under Device Manager? (Rational place to
start as any I suppose...)

Look under Network Adapters
It MAY be that you've killed your WinSock? If so then take a peek here:

Just to be sure - under your network settings for that device - do you have
it set to show the device if it's connected AND to notify you when it has
limited or no connectivity?
