Default Re: Slow Bootup

Steve I know it doesn't help your porblem, but I am having the same problem
right now with a Viao. It has run well for a year and now every now and then
boot up will be slow and CPU is at 100%. I have run Norton Anti Virus and
Adaware a couple of times with no out of the ordinary results. I bought
another 514M of RAM bringing me up to over 1G (960) after graphics card.
Same opperation however. It especially seems to happen if I try to multi
task. If I open a couple of browser windows or big programs it goes straight
to 100%. This only started about 2 weeks ago. I notice the problem most
iwth the following programs
Poker.com (more than 1 game open)
Firefox Browser (multi windows or tabs)
Internet Explorer (muti window)
Yahoo Stat tracker for fantasy football with another window open.
my wife recently installed SIMS 2 Nightlife.
I also run Zone Alarm.
Maybe this will help you a little to see what someone else has done. Please
let me know if you have done anthing else.
