well i made a new login user with admin authority and tried it but still the
same problem. i also noticed that when i go to the control panel and switch
to classic view my system icon is missing but IT is there on my original
login account. should i put in my xp disc that came with my computer and have
it repair my computer? it is service pack one and i have upgraded to service
pack 2. also if i do repair this way will anything happen as far as settings
or my other programs ect. thanks for the help guys
