What's with all the periods, anyway?
Yes and no.
It depends by what you mean by "just put the XP Pro disc in.." and how
modified that XP disc is.
It also depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Are you trying to perform an upgrade - one where you keep all your programs
and as many of your settings as reasonable or are you trying to erase
everything and start anew - clean - fresh?
If you have an unmodified installation CD from a store - then you will have
to answer questions, make decisions, etc.
If you have an "unattended" CD created for you by someone with spare time
(or you paid them to do it) - then it is possible you could set your
computer to boot from the CD drive, put in the CD, reboot and *poof* -
everything is done for you.
