Default RE: Home Network -- Wired _and_ Wireless?

Make sure that both computers are in the same workgroup either Home or
Workgroup or whatever you decided for a network name. This just makes life
easier. Be sure that the printer is shared. Right click on the printer name
in the Printers and Faxes page and select Sharing then enable sharing. These
are just the very basics which you may have tried already.
