All I can figure then is that cliptray needs certain files that are integral
to Win98 but not in WinXP. Because I copied all those files to the windows
directory (cliptray.cnt was originally in Windwos/system and that's where I
coppied it to) and when I tried to run it, I got an error message saying
that it couldn't find a dll. When I searched for that dll on my Win98
machine and copied it to my WinXp amchine, it just said it couldn't find
another file it needed. Perhaps if I copied them all it would run but at
that point I got nervous and backed out.

You don't need to install it. All setup does is copy the folder to the hard
drive.
