You cannot capture DV-AVI through USB... ONLY through firewire. It's analog
through USB.
USB is designed really only for capture of still images... it's not fast
enough for video and if you do manage to capture anything, it's usually full
of dropped frames.
Do yourself a favor and get a firewire card.
