Re: HELP! WMM is DRIVING ME NUTS!
Sorry to hear you're having problems. I can tell you that renaming qedit.dll
is not going to help. Even if it helps you launch MovieMaker, you won't be
able to do hardly anything as we rely on qedit.dll for a lot of core
functionality.
If MovieMaker is crashing on startup then that is generally caused by having
a lot of DirectShow filters on your system. Typically you can work around
the problem by temporarily renaming applications that have installed
DirectShow filters. It sounds like you tried renaming InterVideo, but you
may also have to rename other folders as well. You can find the list of the
DirectShow filters that you have installed on your system by running the
"dxdiag" program, clicking Save All Information. It will create a text file
with the information. If you want me to take a further look, please feel
free to email me that file directly and I'll see if I can help you out.
Regards
Dean.
