GOOGLING around we see that ASR apparently doesn't work in XP(Home).
The workaround appears to be to create a boot floppy consisting of the
files: boot.ini, Ntidr, and NTdetect.com files.
I've done that, and in a seperate action, used backup to do a full
system backup (to another drive).
