Depending on quality and how much you want to spend, how old your analogue
cam is....
It may be better to buy a digital cam, as the cost is not too much at the
lower end, and just ensure it has analogue in listed in the specs.
The reason I say this is, due to the cost of the quality A>D convertors. You
need to look at canopus advc range or Miglia. They have chipsets which keep
the audio and video in sync, connect via firewire, so give great
compatibility, you can use movie maker or whichever other editing app you
like to capture and edit. You get dv-avi files which are good quality and
easy to edit. The problem is the cost, it's almost as much as a cheap cam,
or more for top of the range.
Cheaper versions generally connect via usb, lose sync and give you mpeg
files, none of whch you want.
