I'm afraid you'll have to make an appointment with the IT department and
explain the situation. Firewire (ie IEEE1394) is the default connection for
any digital camcorder to the PC.
No firewire, you're going to be stuck with analog video.... Or of course you
can get an external editing company to do the work for you.
