It looks as though it is separate.... although without actually looking at
the back of your PC, I can't be 100% sure.

The Radeon card you have is (of course!!) already obsolete, but if you're
thinking of a newer one, something like either the nVideia FX 5900 or an ATI
x300 or x400. You don't sound like a high end gamer, so a 128mb card should
be quite satisfactory.

Of course if you have $s to burn, then a nice 512mb x1800 XT on a
PCI-Express card (which your motherboard probably won't support) would be
very nice, but I'm sure you could spend the $599 on something else for
Christmas!
