After the movie was totally finished in windows movie make I save it as in
save your movie option. It was saved to the computer. Once I was ready to
burn it
I went to save movie for recordable CD. Once a disc was placed it asked for
a name. Then had other options. This is where I got stuck.Under other options
I have Video for local player ,Video LAN,Video broad band and video playback.
I thought that one of these were the choices. But now most of the comentators
tell me that I should have a DV-AVI option as well. I do not. I have a NTFS
formated hard drive. I am under the understanding that if I had the DV-AIV
choice that would be it. I do not know.
I connected my JVC 700x digital camera Via the DV port on the camera to the
computer. I was asked to choose the capture video devise. Tis gives me 2
choices. AVC complaint DV Device and Dell movie studio. Next was to name th
file. The get other choices and guess what. Under other I found the dV-AVI
choice.
Thank you for forcing me to retrace the steps. THe DV-AVI choice is at the
beginning BEFORE the movie is saved. Not AFTER the movie has been completed.

Another way to burn the project if some is having headaches with microsoft
movie maker is to recorder back to a DV tape and directly burn it through
nero,dell movie or any other program. It worked for me while trying to solve
this issue.
