My problems are still not over. Now i know what has happened.
After running Startup Inspector for the first time, the program responded by
saying that ATI was not necessary at startup. So I removed it from startup
and then went and removed it from the system using "Add/remove programs". Now
I don't know how to reinstall as when I do a search for ATI, a heap of files
are listed.
I went to the website as suggested by Graham and there are three parts to
the download, the second being from the original install disk which I do not
have, as the computer came with ATI installed. I cannot get past this point
to download an upgrade.
I advised ATI of my problem and sent a copy of the Everest report which
showed that ATI was my graphics card but they didn't reply to my email as
promised.
Now I am stuck in which direction to go next. Any suggestions please.
