[Three extra minutes seems a little long]

Anyway, yes, generally, you are probably correct. Many programs add a
Service or two - which run in the background - and also add little programs
that start via a "Run" key in the Windows registry. This can slow your
computer's start time [and hog memory] more or less depending on your
computer. Often these programs have an option you can select so that they do
not start at startup.

NEVERTHELESS, scan for virus and malware etc.with up-to-date scanner
software because malware also can be a cause of your slowdown, which if it
is as much as you report, seems a little long.
