Do you mean two folder windows open.

1. Most unlikely. Presumably these are integtated with the system. Their current location is recorded and Windows won't be able to find them (eg trying to open a saved email on the desktop). Depending on how the two programs were written they may still work as unintegrated apps.

2. Probably.

Uninstall and reinstall. Have nothing in startup you don't want to startup.
