well the latest driver is buggy. I found the correct driver to use:

CATALYST
4.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and only catalyst 4.4!!!

i will post this in multiple newsgroups where ppl are having the same
trouble as i was experiencing.
