Contention? As in dining philosophers?
Well, apparently there was a bios upgrade available, very well hidden on the
compaq (well, HP) site. So I flashed the crappy machine, and as a result it
is less crappy now. It boots. But after five minutes the machine hangs again.
I don`t dare to use a video adapter, I think the bios will go entirely nuts
then. (There is no AGP slot. It s crappy I am telling you.)
I ll contact HP again.
