Yes, still images : And there's a menu item when playing a DVD

View -> DVD features ->Capture Image

To "capture" video you need to extract the VOB from the DVD using
something like SmartRipper to decrypt and gather the MPEG file. You
can then chop it up and transcode the MPEG to windows media or other
formats - for example using VirtualDub or one of the movie editing
packages.
