Re: Pop up blovcker causing problems
Yeah, i checked to make sure that yahoo isn't installed, and i ran
through all of the same ideas that you had. I downloaded firefox,
figureing that if the problem was with ie, that firefox would work. I
disabled the popup blocker on firefox and so on an so forth. I turned
off the firewall (and did not turn on the windows firewall, just to
make sure that i was not running anything that could keep the pop ups
from working.) i turned off intrusion detection on norton so that
wasn't the problem. I even disconnected myself from my router and
plugged the computer directly into the cable modem (just trying to cut
out as many variables as possible, i didn't think it was going to make
a difference) Basically, i exposed my computer naked to the internet,
and still this site insists that i have a pop up blocker (the site
works for other people, so i am pretty sure that is not the problem) I
have checked all of my processes, eveything and anything that i could
think of. I installed sp2 (finally) in the hopes that it would change
the config somehow. but no. nothing. nada. I have run out of ideas.
