Outlook, or Outlook Express?

Make sure: View | Current View - Show All Messages.

View | Sort By - Received.

What do you consider ample size? You should never keep messages in default
folders, and the ones you create should be kept no larger than 100MB.

Why can't you create a new identity and test it? Anyone can.
