Define personalities. It's not a term that comes to mind with Outlook
Express. Are you confusing "User Accounts" with it?

Yes, a single user can have multiple mail accounts, mixing POP, IMAP and
HTTP as needed.

Once an IMAP message is purged, it's gone. Check under
Tools/Options/Maintenance for options about purging IMAP messages.
