I use unique mail addresses for each of my correspondents. Hence, I receive
mail on
amazon.mv@foo.com,
kids.mv@foo.com,
xm.order@foo.com, and so on
where foo.com is my domain. Each of those addresses is a defined account
within foo.com, but they all end up in the same IMAP server store.
Essentially I have unlimited accounts within my domain. When I send a
message to amazon I want the From: to be
amazon.mv@foo.com, and likewise,
when I send a message to xm I want the From: to be
xm.order@foo.com. Hence,
whenever composing a message I need a From: field that lets me select from
predefined FROM addresses (which some clients call personalities). Such a
feature is available with Outlook.

The other poster said that OE had a mark undelete function which would
unmark the deletion flag (if used before compact or purge).
