Sorry to keep jumping into this thread. As I indicated earlier, I
have my Windows Update configured as you indicate above. I first see
the Windows Update Agent notification icon contained in the
notification area of the taskbar, and the balloon letting me know that
there are updates. I click on that icon, look at the available
downloads, select them, and start the download (the progress meter
shows the download.) Then, after a while, I remember to check the
status, only to find that there is no longer an icon in the
notification area of the taskbar. The updates are not installed; I am
not notified that they have been downloaded and are ready for
installation. If I manually go to the Windows Update site, it
indicates that the updates are not installed. I select them here,
download them, and then click to install.

For me, the "Download and wait for installation" process does not
work. Any ideas why?
