Hi

I have a similar but somehow different problem with this update.
Like most people said it keeps coming back, update finds it already
downloaded, reinstalls everytime and next time its still there.
I tried all possible solutions described in here so far, none worked.
I get some other error messages as if I am not running Outlook Express 6 or
6 SP1.

First of all i unistalled the update KB897715 and tried to install through
windows update but also manually (by downloading the file) the update
KB823353. Still it didnt work.

When I try to install the update by executing the file I get this message :
This update requires Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 to be installed.

When I try to install the version for thats for Outlook Express 6 without
SP1, I get a message saying :
This update requires Outlook Express 6 to be installed !!!

Ok, here's some info you might find useful before you ask for them

Running WinXP Pro SP1.
At the about screen of Outlook Express, its version 6 (I already knew
that...).
More specifically its 6.00.2800.1123 (after unistalling the KB897715, dont
know if it was different before).
msoe.dll version 6.00.2800.1478

IE is clearly SP1 as I can see in the about box.

Run the sfc command a couple of months ago trying to repair something, I
dont know if it might have some connection to the problem.

Anybody with a solution to this?

If any additional info is needed please let me know.
