RE: Update installation fails
I did a search on google to try and solve the problem, and I read the
suggestion to re-register the dlls. This failed... The concensus seems to be
that the cause of the problem is an uninstallation of Norton Internet
Security (and some other Symantec products). I fall into this category, and
all the other suggestions mentioned also failed. The list includes:
- Delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\NETWORK\Downloader
- Start RPC Locator and then try BITS
- Re-register the dlls
None of these have worked for me. Symantec has no mention of this problem on
their website.
Any more ideas?
