DF,
There many reasons why this could be. Chief among them is poorly written
software.
Where did Itmsg start from?
%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Or from the registry?
Most likely one of these two...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
Did you disable Itmsg using msconfig?
Why don't you get an error message if Itmsg is a startup item and it does
not exists on your machine?
Many enquiring minds want to know. ;-)

Hope this helps. Let us know.
