Tools > Options > File Types [tab] allows you to set all the media types
for which you would like it to be default. Note that if you have some
other media players (especially iTunes) present on your system, then
they will try to grab these back.

You should also look at the Set Program Access & Defaults link on your
Windows START menu, which allows you to disable access to other players.
