Favorites Don't Display

If I click on the "View" Menu on the toolbar, then select Explorer Bar, then
Favorites, so that it shows my Favorites off to the left hand side of my
explorer, nothing appears. And if I go to a page and say "Add to Favorites,
it never adds it and never shows it..either to the left hand side or even
pulling down the Favorites menu. Any ideas?
