Looks like you need to use the File Types tab of the Folder Options tool...

Thank you Robert and Rob:

The fact is that it would be unpractical to have all my possible users
change their settings in the File Types tab (I myself cannot make it load in
the frame instead of in a new Word window). I am thinking of adding a
"custom" standard toolbar with Print and Save As options so that those users
who have different settings are able to print or save the documents.

I am still looking into this issue, so any other comment is also welcome.
