Whenever I try to visit my local county sheriff's web site (http://www.seminolesherriff.org), I get I dialog box saying:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe abnormal program execution after which IE aborts. The message, obviously, tells me nothing useful. The first page of the web site does appear, however, and it says that I need to enable cookies (they're enabled) and JavaScript (it's enabled). I've put the site in the trusted zone for both IE and my firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro). I've even gone so far as to disable ZoneAlarm while accessing the site, but the results are the same. I haven't experienced this problem anywhere else. Any idea what's busted? Thanks. - John |

Hi John
Sorry, but the Google toolbar is the only thing I know of that produces that error. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.org/index.html On Tue, 22 Nov 2005 10:44:56 -0500, "John Miller" <John.L.Miller@NO-SPAM.verizon.net> wrote: >Thanks for trying, but no - no change in behavior. Actually, that's the site I'm having trouble with. I misspelled "sheriff"
in the original post. - John "Robert Aldwinckle" <robald@techemail.com> wrote in message news:uzoqCF87FHA.3044@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > "John Miller" <John.L.Miller@NO-SPAM.verizon.net> wrote in message > news:OMH7yVu7FHA.1184@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl > ... > <QP> > Whenever I try to visit my local county sheriff's web site > (http://www.seminolesherriff.org), I get I dialog box saying: > </QP> > > > What happens when you go to > > http://www.seminolesheriff.org > > instead? > > > <eg> |

Donny -
I tried your solution (uninstalling the Google toolbar) as suggested above by Alan. Didn't make any difference. Thanks for trying.
