I CAN browse https sites using IE but CANNOT browse http websites. Firefox
can browse any sites. I have 1 month old new PC with XP SP2 and IE version 6.00.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 , have anti-virus up to date, MS Anti-Spyware installed, fast internet connection. I tried uninstalling IE and re-installing, have reset every IE security / proxy / Advanced settings to defaults, even set security to Low - same problem. This other PC at home is almost identical, yet IE is OK. Any ideas? |

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html or http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 for expert analysis, not here.** -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), AH-VSOP BillyBoy wrote: > I CAN browse https sites using IE but CANNOT browse http websites. Thanks PA Bear - you indirectly led me to fix this FINALLY.
Downloaded hijackthis and it reported a common error: O10 - Broken internet acces because of LSP prooder mwtsp.dll missing I use Escan from www.mwti.net , so I downloaded MWAV.exe from their site and ran this and it found 'roings' spyware and other incorrect registry links, and MWAV corrected these. Very good prgranms - MWAV and Hijackthis ! Now IE can browse http and https sites. Thanks!
