Default Resizing new window opened from a link

I used to be able to resize new windows opened by clicking on a link so that
they would either open maximized or at least in a large square shaped
window. Now they open in a small rectangular shape and none of the
techniques I've treated to set a default size has worked. I tried the Open
In A New Window method which involved manually resizing the new window. That
didn't work.
I haven't found anything in the MSKB of help either. I've read that the
window shaped can also be set by the javascript or html.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

If that doesn't do it try the REG file here:

It's a bit difficult following what you are saying.

Clicking on a link to resize? Is that a web link?
Remember some Windows are programmed to be a certain size- you can't change
it (in IE at least).

To set a default window size for IE resize to what you want, hold down the
Shift key and then double click the top left button (the one with restore,
move, size......), when the window closes let go of the shift button. Reopen
IE, it should remember that last size and position.
