Default Passport won't stay signed-in

even though I have the box ticked to keep my Passport signed in, I keep
having to sign-in when I post here.

Is this normal or can I keep 'signed in' like the checkbox seems to imply ?

Passport will sign itself out after a period of inactivity - as should all
secure sites.

I see. Thats fine for whatever other reasons people use passport. For me, it
was solely to post on these forums.

The best solution would be to make this a normal forum like everywhere else,
but I know thats not going to happen.

I am also unhappy that passport has broad purposes and therefore they feel
it requires us to keep signing in, yet anyone reading this via newsgroups can
see my IP.

Anyhow, thanks for the reply.

The best solution id for you to use a proper newsreader - rather than the
atrocious CDO interface that you are currently using.
look in the link in my sig - they'll point you at the easy way of accessing
newsgroups.

Whatever you do on the internet *someone* can see your IP - otherwise you
could never access it! - what you need to do is to minimise risk - using
reputable ISP's. and proper security is the first step - avoiding ridiculous
problems with HTML interfaces is another.

Outlook Express was designed very much with Newsgroups in mind - have you
tried it?
