When I use AUTO COMPLETE (ie web address box checked) & I start typing a web
address in address bar I get a drop down box underneath with other website possibilities listed, starting with the first letter of website address I am entering (ie www.a...... & so on) Some of these sites are undesirable, some are not.I would hate the kids to click on them, My Mrs is doing her nut!. If the AUTO COMPLETE isnt on then there is no problem. I have tried everything I know , cleared HISTORY , COOKIES, DELETED files, Run CCLEANER,ANTISPYWARE but nothing works. When AUTOCOMPLE is on & I start typing an address there they are. How can I get rid/remove delete these sites? Anyone have any ideas? Hope I have explained this ok Regards Cookie 050505 |

You can also selectively delete them manually by heading to this section of the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs -- Galen - MS MVP - Windows (Shell/User & IE) http://dts-l.org/ "My life is spent in one long effort to escape from the commonplaces of existence." - Sherlock Holmes |

Hi,
When you run CCleaner, check the boxes to clear history, recently typedurls and index.dat. A restart may be required to see the results. If unsuccessful with that, Free History Eraser from http://smartprotector.com/eraser/fre...ory-eraser.htm will delete the History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when you restart. Or the History folder can be deleted manually: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "cookie050505" <cookie050505[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8581BDF0-7D8C-44F0-B95E-58BB3FB5ACC8@microsoft.com... > When I use AUTO COMPLETE (ie web address box checked) & I start typing a web > address in address bar I get a drop down box underneath with other website > possibilities listed, starting with the first letter of website address I am > entering (ie www.a...... & so on) Some of these sites are undesirable, some > are not.I would hate the kids to click on them, My Mrs is doing her nut!.
