I used Mozilla as my primary web browser, but whenever I use IExplorer
and after I shut it down I get an error message" 'The instruction at "0x01c83795" referenced memory at "0x0160ad58". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program." Could this just be because I'm primarily using Mozilla and not IE? |

Hi,
This is probably being caused by another program, possibly malware, possibly legitimate. Start by disabling third-party toolbars, ad-blockers, etc. Then use BHODemon 2.0 from http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm to disable BHO's to see if one of them is causing this. Then you will want to conduct a thorough search for malware. Download, update and run Ad-aware, Spybot and (if running WinXP) MS Anti-Spyware (Beta.) See these sites for help: Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm The Parasite Fight http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.html What you can do about spyware and other unwanted software: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...ywarewhat.mspx You may have to register and post a HijackThis log to one of these forums for additional help. Look for the proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow proper procedure. * HijackThis Quick Start http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/#Top * HijackThis Tutorial and Download http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru...howtutorial=42 http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30 http://castlecops.com/forums.html http://tomcoyote.com/forums/ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "WeberChick" <hl-honeycutt[at]comcast.net> wrote in message news:1133195416.345365.288320@o13g2000cwo.googlegr oups.com... > I used Mozilla as my primary web browser, but whenever I use IExplorer > and after I shut it down I get an error message" 'The instruction at > "0x01c83795" referenced memory at "0x0160ad58".
