Default Adobe Reader 7.5

In the past I recall that Adobe Reader opened in IE6 with no problems at
all.

In recent times [last 6 weeks] Reader will not open pdf items in the browser
unless the Adobe Reader is actually open.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ?

I have totally removed Adobe from my computer and reinstalled and as far as
I can tell, IE6 is working correctly.

I am running XP Home Edition SP2 with all available updates and other
add-ins seem to work correctly.

Many thanks for trying but while all the correct add-ons are loaded, the
browser still refuses to open PDF files unless Reader is already open.
