Default can't administer trusted sites

for win2k pro
ie 6.0.28
should be up to date with all ie patches etc

i'm logged in as an administrator and can't edit my trusted sites list?? (in
the security tab)
i've tried setting security to lowest possible (or any level) but when i
select trusted sites (or internet) the 'sites' button is greyed out
i can enter sites for either restricted or local internet.
have searched around a bit but don't see anything that i have other wise set
that would prevent or restrict this???

thanks for the reply
i'm making progress but still have problems, i changed the registry settings
so i can edit trusted sites
there were a couple of spyware entries, i got rid of all but one using
hijack this
*.frame.crazywinngs.com
i can't get rid of this thing, it keeps autoadding, after i remove it
any help on killing autoadd either for this site or 'autoadd' in general???
also, in the trusted sites panel i'm missing the checkbox for 'require
server verification (https for all sites in this zone'
is there some way to get this back???

Hi,
Malware probably locked you out of Trusted Sites. It sounds like some of it
is still present.

Start at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewtopic.php?t=4075 Then go to
http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through the preliminary cleaning
steps then post a HijackThis log to the forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30

Be patient. It's a busy forum.

HijackThis logs are also analyzed at these (and other) forums. Look for the
proper forum and an "Important- Read This First" message so that you follow
proper procedure.

Covered at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/flags.htm Add 64 to the existing
Value data just as you added 2 or 3 to un-grey the Sites button.
