Default Stopping MSIE from opening

Hello :-)

Is there a way to block other programs (ones I install myself) from opening
MSIE? In this case, when I sign on to NetZero dialup through their software
(which I use at work with my boss' permission since cable's not available)

Hi Cloudchaser,

Depends upon what you mean.

Can you stop other programs from starting internet explorer? Answer no.

Can you stop other programs from accessing the internet. Answer Yes.
Firewall software (Nortons)

Can you connect to NetZero without MSIE. Answer Yes. Use another browser,
but you need a web browser to connect unless you are an experienced
programmer. NetZero should be able to offer you support in this area.

np. Get in touch with NetZero. Actually it looks like you want to start
Internet Explorer but not start at the NetZero Home Page?

Thats simple Tools>Internet Options - General tab - you will see options
there to set your home page ( the web page that IE will use when it starts
up)

Heres a home page a doctor may be interested in (although I do not recommend
them at all as I recently had an interview with the owner. I hope you are
not like this guy! God help us.)

http://www.alldoctors.com (not recommended)

To promote an associate try http://www.drweightloss.com

To search medical jornals http://www.scirus.com

To do general searches enter www.google.com or www.msn.com (sorry this is a
ms sponsored newsgroup - try them first!)

Try a Google or MSN search for your local MIMS on-line provider ( It may be
a different provider in your country. This is the Pharmacea provider for
Aust and NZ) but sirus are pretty good.

Nope, Stopzilla's got it set to about:blank in concrete and won't let it
change unless I change it through Stopzilla (great pop-up blocker, by the
way) When NetZero signs on, it wants to open a general interest news page
and uses MSIE to do it. I've tried corrupting, renaming and deleting
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe, but a working copy just
appears within seconds. Any idea where iexplore.exe might be getting copied
from to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\

Don't delete or corrupt anything! sounds like its all NetZero. (logon
script?) so contact them if you want to stop their news page from loading.
