Default Re: Long pause after typing url without http:// prefix

Hi,

I appear to have got it sorted! It seems to have been a problem with
the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service. I've disabled the service
and now there is no delay opening Windows Explorer or in prepending
URL's with http:// automatically. I'm sure it's the same problem as
the other chap experienced (http://www.aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=16583)
because I noticed in his list of services that he was running HP
software that allowed him to connect to a HP printer via wireless like
me - and I'm prepared to bet that if he looks in the event viewer he'll
see that the WIA falls over on startup and every so often after that
(RPC errors in my case).

Regards...Rob
