How do I run Internet Explorer from my default browser and at the same time
have another one or two Internet Explorers running. Say, one to a secure website and another to a nonsecure site without having a conflict? Does this make any sense? Is it possible these as Icons on screen as well? |

In the far left of the address bar is a small icon --- simply go to the
website you want a shortcut for and drag that little icon across to the desktop... you can have as many windows open as you wish (this is limited by the amount of memory you have and other things, not by IE) If you have many windows open you may find it easier to use the buttons on the main taskbar to swap from one to the other but of course that's personal preference... By the way some secure sites have a timeout function so you can still drag the icon a above but some pages will close anyway, you cannot force them to stay open. If a page closes you may be able to use F5 to refresh it but not if it's a data input form... I didnt see an icon on the address bar. Unless you are talking about the list
that Favorites lets me save web adresses to. when you say"data input form" do you mean a website that requires me to use a username and or password to enter? Because I would like to have 2 or 3 of these authorized sites open at a time. I currently am not able to have multiple sites open without getting kicked out of a previous one. Hi,
If I understand, the problem is that you can only have one IE window open at a time, right? Try this: From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts." And... you may have a toolbar or program running which is blocking pop-up windows- something like Yahoo toolbar, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, etc. The Yahoo toolbar is a very common cause. Uninstalling the Yahoo toolbar should allow a second window to open. If you're sure that another program isn't causing this, these links should help. http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm Tips #21 & 46 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679 http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/26.html http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/27.html Regarding the internet shortcut... as Charlie explained, make the IE window smaller than the desktop. Click (left-click) the IE "e" icon at the left end (beginning of) the address and drag that "e" icon over to the desktop. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "Robbywon" <Robbywon[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4F53C3E0-550F-4E37-965C-67D934DBBE85@microsoft.com... > How do I run Internet Explorer from my default browser and at the same time > have another one or two Internet Explorers running.
