When I run IE, I get nothing. IE starts and attempts to
www.microsoft.com, but nothing happens. The windows flag will wave
forever.

But If I use Firefox or Opera and attempt to ge to www.microsoft.com, it
works fine.

This is a new computer that I am attempting to setup. It appears that
IE stopped after some of the updates from Microsoft were installed. I
was using the automatic Updates to download the updates. I am currently
downloading the additional update via the same manner.

I am running Windows XP Media Edition SP2, with IE
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158.

Any help would be appreciated.

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

probably in the Win98 (i386 for WinXP) folder of your installation CD-ROM
(typically D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs (Windows\i386 for
WinXP) folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System (C:\Windows\System32
for WinXP), and click OK. System File Checker (or msconfig) looks for the
file, saves it as you requested, and then tells you that 'the file has been
successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

I have tried all of the above and still no luck. I have uninstalled and
reinstall. Still no luck.

The odd thing is if I start IE without connecting to the internet, it
will not return an error it just sits there with the flag waving. I let
it sit for 30 minutes and still nothing, no error or anything.

I have both Adaware and spybot S&D and both are run regularly and still
it does not work.

I can use the browser component in MS Money to access the MS sites. But
if you click a link that starts a new window, it starts IE and nothing
happens. The IE Window will sit there with the flag waving and never
returns anything.
