Default Jre version problem

Hi,

I have a Java Script Code in one of my XSl file, in which i read a text
file present in the desktop and load the Corresponding HTML file.. in
my Web Browser.

But the Code works fine for jre 1.3 and now i have installed jre 1.5...
and now my code fails to read the file... again i installed 1.3.. it
works fine...

So if any body has any idea as to whats happening... Plz help me.

My code is like this....

function loadfunc()
{
var filename= "State_" + document.frmMainmenu.ContextID.value +".txt";
var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
var ForReading, file;
ForReading = 1;
var lineContent="";

if (fso.FileExists(filename))
{
file = fso.OpenTextFile(filename, ForReading, false);
lineContent = file.readLine();
}
}

The text file "State_" + document.frmMainmenu.ContextID.value +".txt"
is present on Desktop... but it fails to read this file when i use Jre
1.5..

So any thing to do with Version ??

Regards,
Deepthi. K. V

Is this actually an Internet Explorer problem? What happens when you test
using another browser, like Firefox or Opera? If the problem still exists
in the other browsers, it is a Java problem and not an issue to post to this
group but an issue to post in a [Sun] Java-related newsgroup. I see you did
post to Java-related groups, so why are you bothering to post in the
Internet Explorer group? Does the problem ONLY occur with Internet
Explorer?

Incidentally, the code that the OP posted is JavaScript, which is
different from Java. For one thing, Sun is NOT the maintainer of JavaScript,
so it would also be inappropriate to post this question in a Java newsgroup.
JavaScript was invented by the people of Netscape Communication Corporation
(which has since been acquired by AOL in 1998), but I am unsure if they
still maintain it.

Also incidentally, I can't imagine how upgrading the JRE could have any
effect whatsoever on JavaScript, since it is the browser's JavaScript Engine
which parses the JavaScript code, and not the Java Runtime Environment.
